BioEthics Committee Simulation
|
WELCOME This is a video-based interactive e-learning package where in a simulated environment you chair meetings of a university ethical committee and have to make decisions throughout the meeting on accepting or rejecting project proposals in the field of bioscience. These decisions will influence the simulation to pose further dilemmas about each case according to your decisions. Thus you have a direct influence on the recommendation of this virtual committee by engaging with the simulation. The simulations is based on real life cases, and includes video clips with actors playing members of the committee. GETTING STARTING Before you select one of the cases, please see the introduction of the simulation, the background ethical theories and the members of the committee (secretary, lay person, scientist, legal advisor, and health care professional) introducing themselves as well as the applicant of the projects, and finally the lecturer that will ask you questions on ethics throughout the simulation. |
CASES Select one of the following case to discuss them in the committee:
TECHNICAL PROBLEMS? We set up the simulation to work on a large number of platforms. However, if you experience technical problems check the technical support page, about the requirements to run the simulations. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT The development of this simulation was apart of a project funded by Centre for Bioscience, The Higher Education Academy in the UK. Various people should be credited for their involved in the development. Data obtained in the simulation is used in research on e-learning and ethics. |
